Location, location, location. On the beautiful South Pacific coast, where the mountains reach the sea, there is no more beautiful place in Costa Rica. We traveled all over Costa Rica, before deciding this was where we wanted to spend our retirement. At that time, it was remote, difficult to reach over mountains or unpaved roads. But the recently completed highway from San Jose to the south coast has meant an easy three hour beautiful drive to Lattice House from the San Jose Airport.
Lattice House is conveniently located right off the Costanera (Highway 34) between Dominical (10 minutes) and Uvita (5 minutes) where you will find restaurants, banks, groceries, and tourist services. Ojochal, originally settled by French Canadians and the center for culinary experiences in the area is 15 minutes south.
It is 3 minutes to the beach below the house, and a short drive to beautiful beaches stretched all up and down the coast. The Parque Nacional Marina Ballena (The Whale’s Tail) that can be seen from the house, less than 7 minutes.
Most of the myriad of activities are less than 15 minutes away. You will not find a more beautiful, accessible location than Lattice House.
Getting There. Fly into San Juan Santamaria Airport in San Jose. From there, we can arrange a van, taxi or rent a car for the easy drive. Or fly from San Jose to Quepos, 40 minutes from the house (although schedules usually make it just as fast to drive).
